Mountain View, California - June 24, 2009 - Synopsys, Inc., a world leader in software and IP for semiconductor design, verification and manufacturing, today announced that Achronix Semiconductor Corporation, maker of ultra-fast field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), has signed an expanded business agreement to establish Synopsys as its leading EDA partner for the design of its next-generation FPGAs. As a result of the new multi-year agreement, Achronix has consolidated on Synopsys' Galaxy(TM) Implementation and Discovery(TM) Verification Platforms throughout their internal development and design flow.

With this expanded agreement, Achronix has chosen products across Synopsys' broad portfolio, including IC Compiler place-and-route technology; Design Compiler(R) Ultra synthesis; Formality(R) power-aware equivalence checking; PrimeTime(R) SI signal integrity analysis ; Star-RCXT(TM) parasitic extraction; Hercules(TM) physical verification; TetraMAX(R) automatic test pattern generation; the VCS(R) MX, HSPICE(R), and HSIM(R) simulators for analog and digital verification; and DesignWare(R) Library's portfolio of synthesizable and verification IP.
