Alviso, California – September 22, 2008 – Infinisim, Inc., a privately funded EDA startup announces RASER, a simulator specifically designed for mixed-signal ICs. RASER guarantees SPICE accurate results with an average of 50 times speedup and capacity for large mixed-signal circuits. RASER is the first simulator in the market that does not trade off accuracy for capacity and performance.

“The complexity of today’s mixed-signal designs has surpassed the capabilities of current simulation products and their underlying technologies. As a result, the analysis and verification of tightly-coupled analog/digital circuits, developed in 90nm-or-lower process nodes, is resulting in long simulation run times and inadequate verification coverage, which contributes to increased silicon failures,” said Samia Rashid, President and Co-founder of Infinisim. “Based on breakthrough technology, RASER is uniquely capable of addressing the simulation challenges of large mixed signal designs.”

Underlying RASER’s unparalleled performance is Infinisim’s patent-pending Real-time Adaptive Simulation™ (RAS™) technology. RAS adapts to the changing circuit simulation environment at every time-point of the simulation while using the full device models and adhering to the full SPICE accuracy requirements. Using this technology, RASER is able to automatically and simultaneously deliver SPICE accuracy and handle large-scale mixed-signal circuits. This novel approach has been proven to handle 50X larger designs than what traditional SPICE simulators can handle, while concurrently providing an average of 50X speed improvement with full SPICE accuracy.

RASER is ideally suited to circuits like SerDes, high-speed wireline/wireless communication channels, precision analog interfaces, image sensors, critical paths in SoCs and clock networks. These designs typically consist of large numbers of elements and require SPICE simulation accuracy with high performance. As an example, SerDes transceivers are commonly designed in nanometer process technologies. To ensure that timing and power specs are met, high accuracy and the ability to simulate the entire system together become necessary. At the same time, simulating over operating modes, deep-submicron process variation space and environmental conditions requires simulations to be fast enough to facilitate maximum design coverage prior to tape-out.

RASER was developed by industry luminaries with a combined simulator development experience of more than 50 years. Dr. Syed Zakir Hussain, Dr. Perry Gee and Dr. Dileep Divekar, have developed a number of simulation products that are used widely today in the EDA industry. With a single-minded focus on solving a persistent mixed-signal design problem, this team has crafted an innovative simulation technology platform. Infinisim’s RASER has been field proven at industry-leading mixed-signal design companies.

About Infinisim
Infinisim provides guaranteed SPICE-accurate simulation results with an average of 50 times higher throughput and capacity for large mixed-signal circuits. Patent-pending Real-time Adaptive Simulation™ (RAS™) technology makes the simulator always accurate and always fast. Infinisim's RASER™ is highly effective for analog and large scale analog mixed-signal circuits. RASER's speed and capacity uniquely position it to run simulations at all stages of design verification - from single-block to full-chip, from pre-layout to post-layout. Infinisim enables its customers to eliminate silicon respins, reduce chip design schedules and dramatically improve product quality and production yield.
