Santa Clara CA - January 9, 2006 - Simucad Design Automation Inc., a leading provider of electronic design automation (EDA) software tools, announced today that it has completed its spinoff from Silvaco International as an independent Delaware corporation to focus on delivering its complete line of PDK (Process Design Kit)-enabled analog, mixed-signal and RF IC design software. Simucad’s corporate objective is to build its revenue stream required for an initial public offering (IPO) as soon as possible.

Silvaco will remain a private company and focus on Technology Computer Aided Design (TCAD) with its leading process and device simulation products derived from the original Stanford software. Simucad retains four US offices that distribute and support both Silvaco TCAD and Simucad AMS/RF IC design tool products. Silvaco retains seven international offices that distribute and support both companies’ products.
